Hello, and welcome to St Paul’s, Bow Common

A congregation who worship together inside a building of unique significance.

Hello, and thank you for visiting us online. We are a small but lively congregation in the liberal catholic tradition seeking to grow as Christians, and to build up our church in this rapidly changing area.

New Visitors to the Church

If you are a new visitor to the Church, this section is just for you. We want you to feel welcome and have everything you need to be included at St Paul’s Bow Common both virtually and in person.

Our welcomer’s at the Church will introduce themselves and introduce other members of the church to you. We often have refreshments after the service so do stay for a chat and a cuppa.  We have a  ‘Whatsapp’ group to keep the fellowship growing outside of the Church. Please speak to Mother Bernadette if you would like to be included.

If you would like to volunteer for a role within the church please speak to Mother Bernadette.

The Parish

We’d love for you to visit us in person too! Here’s where you can find us…

The parish of St Paul’s Bow Common is in the East End of London, just south of Mile End. The parish has two canals for its boundaries – the Regent’s canal to the west and the Lee Cut to the southeast, with the boundary of E3 with E14 forming the southwest boundary and Bow Common Lane at the northeast.

The church and vicarage are very much in the centre of the parish. (View the boundary at the 'Church Near You' website. We are in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and in the Tower Hamlets Deanery of the Episcopal Area of Stepney (Diocese of London).

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Eddie Tulasiewicz made this short video The UK’s Best Modern Churches: St Paul’s Bow Common with the National Churches Trust to explain the importance of the building. It features our Prebendary Duncan Ross, the vicar from 1995—2013.
